Great news! The crews from Four Seasons Landscaping has started their work cleaning out the weeds in the medians. They're down working at the Deer Lake end and will work their way north over the next few days.

UPDATE: Our contractor just notified us they may have crew start this weekend 9/7 to start cleaning out the weeds in the medians!
Employee illnesses had delayed the start. Thank you for your patience.

As many of you have noticed, the grass in the medians is growing tall.

In July at the start of GDOT's fiscal year, their mowing and maintenance agreement with NGL expired and was not renewed. For budgetary purposes, they are going back to only mowing 3 times per year. The county commissioners are working with us to find a long term solution. GDOT, understanding that their needs to be a transition, has stated that they will do more mowings for us this year.

In the meantime, thanks to the support of local businesses, hoas and the community over the years, PPID has contracted with Four Seasons Landscape Group, LLC and will pay them to come out and do a good pass on the weeds in the medians from Deer Lake Drive up to and including South Forsyth High. The work is scheduled to begin next week and take a couple of days.

We are encouraged that the Board of Commissioners understands the importance of beautification in our county and we will work with them to find a county wide solution. Thank you for your patience!

Brookwood Area - FYI we are working with Commissioner Brown, the BOC and the county to install landscaping along Brookwood Rd as the construction is drawing to a conclusion (cue: cartwheels!)

The idea is to make a beautiful statement but also install hearty, disease/draught resistant planting in the medians that can also be easily maintained over time. Brookwood Rd, like Hwy 141 are just some of the many entrance cooridors to the county and we want to be proud of our community.

We just got word from GDOT that the mowers will be out tomorrow to mow. As you all can see it is WAY overdue. We also have a meeting on 8/2 to meet with the new district engineer to discuss short and long term solutions.

We appreciate the support and patience (as we are trying ourselves and it’d challenging) while we work to find a long term solution for maintenance along Hwy 141 and Ga 400 for that matter.

In case you were wondering when they were going to mow and pick up litter along Hwy 141 (like we were)
Per GDOT: " Litter pick up was to begin today (weather permitting) and they will mow the area next week at the latest."
We need rain but may the litter be gone first!
